The Penrose

The Penrose is the only B&B built into the side of a famous red rock formation –Castle Rock–and its high elevation provides breathtaking, completely unobstructed views of all the many red rocks in the area. Enjoy the scenery while lounging on the deck or relaxing in the courtyard and experience it from your own balcony or light, airy guest room whose carefully curated southwestern decor complements the natural environment.
The Penrose’s amenities address your every need. Enjoy luxe linens, mattress pillow toppers, spa robes and towels, private baths with two-person showers or two-person Jacuzzis, TVs, DVD and CD players, movie library, phones, backpacks, and Wi-Fi inside and out. Bose iPod dock and laptop computer are available upon request. Their friendly staff is ready to advise you about all of Sedona’s innumerable opportunites and to help make your Sedona visit everything you want it to be.

The Penrose features five guest rooms: one on the first floor, four on the second. Each room’s private bath has either a two-person shower or a double Jacuzzi with separate shower. The downstairs guest bedroom has its own porch, those upstairs individual balconies. All these rooms have large east facing windows with sweeping views of the area’s many red rock formations.
The Penrose serves a complete breakfast from 8-9A in the breakfast room or, if guests prefer, either on the deck or in the courtyard. Separate tables permit private dining for those who prefer privacy. Starting with orange juice and coffee or tea, they offer a fresh fruit course followed by a different hot entree each day, e. g., berry ricotta cream crepes, chilaquiles on a bed of black beans, or sweet potato apple fritatta. Low cholesterol, vegetarian, allergy-free, kosher, diabetic, and other special needs breakfasts are available upon request.
Guests have continuous access to fresh fruit, fresh-brewed coffee and tea, a fridge full of free drinks (bottled water, pop, coffee drinks, fruit juices, and Gatorade), and in the evening homemade bar cookies. They are unable to accommodate pets. The Penrose is a smoking, incense, and candle free environment. You are, however, welcome to bring your own liquor.
